Did a bit of collaging preparation for the women's community art workshops I am hosting in the coming weeks - I am wanting to get the women to make little poetic images whose meaning is not apparent to anyone; even the makers themselves - so that the stories and relationships to the shapes, forms and colours are discovered for the first time in their sharing.
I have been a bit unsure how I am doing to do this - sorted out what material I would be working with; sissors, paper, glue, pencils and national geographic magazines. And have a good feel of the sorts of images I want to make or want made by the women - however unsure how to facilitate....
Today in my play filling up my new mum's image's journal that Kristy gave me I sorted it out - what I am going to get them to do is cut out images from National Geographic magazines their forms or if they are up to it radom shapes and they have to turn this form around the other way (the wrong side) and they must work with these images to build their pictures or recipes to exchange for future women's community art projects!
Genius I must say!
