Oooh - off line for a day and missed a weblog entry; too many visitors yesturday and then I had to settle down to a Tuesday session of the Bill - can't miss an episode.
Jason and I had a dreadful night last night; poor Kadel (our 4 week old son) spent the night crying and finally settled down at 2.30am!!! - we went to bed at 9.45pm - crazy. Jase was brilliant and let me sleep and he managed to calm him down. He seems to be much more able to calm him off to sleep than I am able. Kadel sucked me dry and I had no milk left to comfort him with.
Today Mum talked me into buying him a dummy and I did - he loves it much to my broken hearts disgrace - I was determined to not to give him a dummy; but he loves to suck and gets a lot of comfort from sucking - it really has worked a treat because he is sound asleep at the moment and I enjoyed my tea and now have time to do my evening blog.
Had a hair cut today too - now I look like a librarian with a bob and a fringe.
Not much to write about my profession at the moment, that I can think of; although just really enjoying maternity leave, being a mum and a house body - it has been brilliant not having Jase at work too - we really enjoy each others company and way of life. Usually we don't get to spend much time together at all.
Heard an amazing man talking on classic ABC this morning - he is a scientist specializing in nutrien (should have a spelling check on this thing!) and he has got great ideas about the links between human's health, our eating habbits and also how we can sustain the environment.
He made great comments about women's role in the communith/society as they are the people who pass wisdom about health, plants and the environment by word of mouth and teach the next generation how to care for themselves in balance with the world - this man is onto something - so much knowledge is lost without story telling and just spending time with other people talking and sharing our problems and working out ways together to solve them and looking back to the past and how we solved common problems.
Having child has really highlighted to me the importance of community, support networks and the ways knowledge and answers to difficult questions can be found. Yoga also is a great way to learn an art form - through the voice and also through body movement. Must give my yoga teacher a call this evening and get back into it - I am very interested in developing more in yoga and would like to talk about this further with her - i just don't know how I will afford to do this... perhaps I might have a service I could exchange with her...
